‘How to Get Away with Murder’ spoilers: Winter finale teases night of Sam’s death
How long is “How to Get Away with Murder” going to air this fall? Well, we’ve now got official word that come November 20, the show is going to go off of the air until the new year with an episode entitled “Kill Me, Kill Me, Kill Me.” (That’s certainly a little macabre, isn’t it?)
ABC technically released a synopsis for this episode this week, but it is hardly the most descriptive thing that you are ever going to see in the world. Instead, there is really only one thing that you need to know about this hour: It is the one that will finally show you exactly what happened the night of Sam’s death. Hopefully, the rest of the season will deal strictly with that aftermath.
What we wonder about right now is if ABC is in somewhat of an interesting dilemma when it comes to what to do with the final six episodes of the first season. After all, the ratings are great, and there could be temptation to save them until April and air them through the May sweeps. This would also keep the show a little bit fresher in mind for viewers entering the next fall.
However, that is very risky, since you don’t want people to become hooked on something else in the time you are away. It is more likely that ABC wraps up the first season earlier in the year, and then tries to use the post-“Scandal” timeslot later to establish another show that could live on its own somewhere else on the schedule. We feel like the viewership has already shown here that it will be loyal, and you need to take advantage of that lead-in to get as many possible hits as you can.
