‘CSI’ season 15, episode 5 preempted again by football; no new episode tonight on CBS
Last week, there was a most unfortunate situation over on CBS, as NFL coverage ran extremely lake, and due to that, “CSI” was forced to preempt their latest episode of season 15.
Well, we are pleased today to report something that qualifies as much better news: There is, at least as of this writing, an episode that is going to air tonight! This is the same episode that was originally scheduled to come on the network last week.
We’re going to have some further updates very soon, but in the event that CBS airs a new episode tonight, it is not going to start until after 11:00 p.m. Eastern time. This means that the entire episode would be airing out of primetime.
If this was last week, we would say that it is 100% for certain the CBS would preempt the show so that they could bring some more new episodes on later in primetime. However, the issue there is that they have a ton of programming that is coming up, and they may need do use some programming hours somewhere. This is a logical place for it, since they still have “Battle Creek,” “CSI: Cyber,” “The Mentalist,” and other shows still very much waiting in the wings to come on soon.
Update: Well, so much for that. We thought that they would go ahead and air the episode, but that’s not happening. The show is being preempted for the second straight week, which is potentially killing this show. The only silver lining we can give fans is that CBS renewed “The Mentalist” last year, and it was at the center of something similar.
Update 2: The episode will air on the West Coast, and may never air now on the East Coast.

Horror Story. No notice. No on demand. No play. We should boycott CBS until Episode 5 surfaces.

I had no idea CBS was not showing CSI off schedule. I’m in Canada. We’ve already seen the episode that was supposed to air last Sunday. I watched it Monday afternoon.

So upset! Why can’t they at least put it “on demand”!! This is very irritating. I stopped watching NBC because of stupid stuff like this and now CBS may be next! ?

Why don’t the just put NFL on the NFL channel? Then the people who have ZERO interest in football aren’t subjected to missing shows we WANT to watch. Even with programming alerts on delayed start times does no good because Comcast DVRs can’t be set to start late only early and only by 15 minutes. The only way to record properly is to be home ready to hit the record button when the show starts, which rather defeats the purpose of having the DVR record the show if I am sitting there watching it. Seriously tired of network television. Hulu Plus is starting to look more attractive by the day.

not everyone gets nfl network and that is why it is put on channels like cbs and fox. i love csi and football. i think cbs should be like fox and if there is a game at 4 something then start shows at 8pm and dont show 60 minutes when there is a game at 4pm.cbs has no control over when the games start. i am sure comcast has a feature that you can record the show over by an hr or so and if not record the next show or two. i will give credit cbs did this year start shows 30 mins late when there is a football game.

If football is important…subscribe to the channel with your cable company. With regards to the DVR, yes I can set it to run late, by 2 he’s. But then it won’t properly record the following show in the same channel. Good wife set to record from 9:30 (the time the guide says it will now start) and running 2 hours late. CSI set to record from 10:30 (the time the guide says it will start) but it will not record due to the first show recording 2 he’s late on same channel. So I end up missing 15-45 minutes of CSI if the comcrap DVR actually records either show at all.
Why not cut all the pre and post game crap or ditch 60 minutes that is crap if the networks won’t dump futbahl. (Purposely misspelled)

Lisa I think you are being ignorant just a little bit. I am sorry you dont like football but there are millions of people out there who do like it.. Some people cant afford to pay for extra premium channels like nfl network. also if you know anything about football nfl network shows nfl red zone from 1-8pm on sundays. I am assuming you are like me and watch the good wife and csi? if that is the case i would suggest the next few shows after csi to get the whole thing or tape the good wife normally at 9:30 and extend csi by like 2 hrs or so . I do agree cbs shouldnt show 60 minutes if there is a football at 4pm. I actually do have some other ideas and would love to help you by email. my email is [email protected].

I have tried to complain to CBS about this for several years – the football game runs overtime at least 90% of the time on their Sunday schedule, always has. Why do they refuse to plan for it?! They could always add post game analysis or a short filler show if needed…

Disgusted with CBS switching nights on CSI in the first place, now they aren’t even airing it! Show was still good, this will now kill it. Good job.

They need to just put some half hour rerun show for the late primetime spot since they moved the afternoon game starts to 4:30. I really like CSI but they are running it into the ground.
