‘True Detective’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Suits,’ ‘Almost Human’ actors reportedly cast
With the season 2 premiere date for “True Detective” vastly approaching, we are getting close to the time when HBO is going to start dishing out their entire list of cast members. For now, though, we at least have the following to report.
Per a report from Deadline, Kelly Reilly (“Black Box”) is set to play one of the regular roles on the drama, though this report seems to suggest that Rachel McAdams has landed the big part of the female police officer that has been in contention for a very long time. Meanwhile, some other important roles have gone to Abigail Spencer (“Rectify,” “Suits”), Michael Irby (“Almost Human”), and Leven Rambin (“The Hunger Games”).
This is the time when “True Detective” really had to finalize its full roster, and quickly, if it wanted to have everything set in stone before filming. We heard recently that this begins in California within a number of weeks, so there is not a whole lot more time to wait.
The other three leads for the show are Taylor Kitsch, Colin Farrell, and Vince Vaugh, with the latter seemingly playing the big bad for the year in a longtime criminal who gets caught up in a massive tornado (figuratively) of problems.
There is no speculated premiere date just yet, save for maybe the summer / fall of next year. There is basically zero chance that the show will be on in the same time it was last year, so it is probably best if you go ahead and completely forget about this as a possibility in the first place. You’re only going to be disappointed in the end.
