‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8, episode 7 preview: Penny’s job hits home
Thursday night, “The Big Bang Theory” is heading home, and by that, we mean that it is back in a timeslot that many will find incredibly familiar: Thursday nights at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. That is when you will have some more opportunities to see just what Sheldon Cooper and company are up to.
So what is the focus of Thursday’s installment? It looks to be something as simple as Penny’s job starting to get in the way of her personal life. Specifically, we’re going to see just what happens when she has a “gentleman caller” (in the words of Sheldon, per the sneak peek below) stopping by her place. We know from the press release that this is a doctor, who she has particularly misled during her daytime duties as a pharmaceutical sales rep.
Penny has found quite a bit of success in this profession, and it seems to be that her charms are a very big reason why. She learns what she learns to know about the drugs she is selling, but then relies on her social skills to make the rest happen.
As you would expect, Leonard is not going to be altogether pleased about this development, and this sets up most of the conflict for the remainder of this episode. Let us be straight here: We don’t thing that Penny has done anything that is extremely over-the-line here. However, she is known to be flirtatious, and that part of her personality, plus her desire to succeed and make real money for a change, could be the source of this conflict.
