‘Big Brother 16’ stars Donny Thompson, Zach Rance, more make ‘Bold and the Beautiful’ debut Thursday
For years now, there has been an odd, almost symbiotic relationship between “Big Brother” and “The Bold and the Beautiful.” On the surface it doesn’t appear like the two shows would have a lot in common other than them both airing on CBS.
Yet, many houseguests past and present have appeared on the daytime soap, and Thursday and Friday, the long-awaited “Big Brother” spectacular is going to air! This special was filmed last month almost immediately after the finale, and is set to story-wise feature the running joke about Donny Thompson and what he does for a living. Based on the video below, we also know that Zach Rance and Caleb “Beast Mode Cowboy” Reynolds (seen ready for a karate match) are going to have speaking parts. More will probably follow.
Here is what CBS had to say about this in a press release:
“During the episodes, series regulars Scott Clifton (Liam) and Ashleigh Brewer (Ivy) embark on a new romance while attending the annual Halloween party at Bikini Beach. Series regular Lawrence Saint Victor (Carter) and costume clad “Big Brother 16” fan favorite Donny Thompson will also be there to celebrate the holiday. In addition, Season 16 Houseguests Amber Borzotra, Cody Calafiore, Nicole Franzel, Zach Rance, Caleb Reynolds, Devin Shepard, Hayden Voss and past “Big Brother” favorites Jordan Lloyd, Rachel Reilly, Jeff Schroeder, Elissa Slater and Brendon Villegas will appear.”
In the end, it’s just a nice little Easter egg to “Big Brother” fans, and it’s probably worth a DVR record of nothing else. It’s cheeky fun that won’t take itself too seriously, and let’s face it: Programming options leading up to Halloween are typically not great. This will help to fill the gap.
Personally, we just appreciate having something “Big Brother”-related to actually report in late October. Usually we don’t even have much when it comes to “Big Brother Canada” to even talk about right now.
