‘Sons of Anarchy’ series finale: Paris Barclay steps in for ailing
There has been some breaking news over the past few days that could have impacted the “Sons of Anarchy” series finale greatly. Luckily, though, creator Kurt Sutter has some very good people attached to the show alongside him.
The showrunner made it clear this week on Instagram that due to an emergency appendectomy, he had to take some time away from working on the show. He also included a picture of the offensive appendix here, just in case you really want to see that for some reason.
So while he has been away, fellow executive producer Paris Barclay has taken over for a few days to ensure that production continues has planned. Barclay has directed multiple episodes already this season, and will also be doing the penultimate one.
Production on the show will come to an end a little later this week, which does truly represent an end of an era and the end of a phenomenon for FX. This is the show that really kept them on the map after “The Shield” ended, and it along with “American Horror Story” have been mainstays. Sutter will be moving on hopefully to a new show in “The Bastard Executioner,” but you are not going to see a whole lot more from that show until at some point next year, when a pilot will be filmed.
For the time being, let’s just be glad that there is still so much to look forward to here, even if there are only a handful of stories left to tell.
