‘Scorpion’ episode 7 preview: A big Katharine McPhee story in ‘Father’s Day’
Monday has already proven to be a pretty big day when it comes to “Scorpion,” given that the CBS series has already been picked up for a full season! Given that we haven’t even seen the show’s numbers without “The Big Bang Theory” as a lead-in, we are admittedly pretty surprised to see that move made.
Luckily, it’s great news for the show regardless, and it is ultimately setting up for one of the most intriguing episodes that the show has done so far. It is going to potentially be a showcase for Katharine McPhee as Paige, and the arrival of Ralph’s father to the table in “Father’s Day” (appropriate title) is going to cause all sorts of drama.
To see some very specific details about what you can expect, just take a look at the official synopsis below:
“A case gets personal for Team Scorpion when three convicts break out of prison and one of them is a brilliant hacker who was forced to help the others steal billions online. Meanwhile, Paige must manage Ralph’s expectations when his father returns.”
Given that this little Scorpion team has become a de facto family, the test here will be seeing if these characters are there for Paige, while at the same time working to handle their own personal variety of problems. After all, they do have quite a few that they are going to need to work out as always.

I think Ralph should develop a sense of Walter as a father figure rather than his biological father. Possibly bring this by addressing his favorite dream (in the pilot Walter and Ralph mention rewinding dreams) or simply in this next episode. This could bring more of a focus on Ralph’s desires which haven’t had an impact on the characters as well as perpetrating more romance between Walter and Paige.
