NBC’s ‘The Voice’ video: Taylor Swift looks to bring fun to Knockout Rounds
In a way, there is some obvious self-promotion associated with Taylor Swift being a part of “The Voice,” at least in that she has a new album coming out in “1989” and of course she wants to promote that in any way possible.
With that being said, the preview video below does make it look like Swift brought her A-game to work with the contestants during the Knockout Rounds stage of the competition. She tries to lighten the mood with humor, jokes about the “drone”-like cameras that are capturing all of the action, and has a very good back-and-forth especially with Blake Shelton. Since Swift originated her career in country music, these two have likely known each other for a very long time now.
Swift will help advise every single person left in the competition in a way that is similar to what Chris Martin did previously on the show. Admittedly, we are happier about the format of the show this time around, since we’re not having a second wave of the battles. The big ratings drop this week to us indicates how most everyone seems to be over this phase of the competition. Then again, a lack of instant-star contestants may also hurt in that regard.
Swift will at least be around for the next two nights of competition, and hopefully from there we’ll get closer to the live rounds, where we can really start to know some of these people.
