‘Boardwalk Empire’ series finale spoilers: Steve Buscemi and more in new promo
Following tonight’s episode of “Boardwalk Empire,” HBO did us one heck of a favor and finally unleashed upon the world the first promo for next week’s series finale. Did it really show off anything that you wanted it to show off, though? We’d say that, for the time being, that is a pretty worthy question.
This episode is entitled “Eldorado,” and in the promo, you can at least see some homages to the ideal, and the hope that Nucky Thompson originally had when he worked to create his empire so many years ago. It’s a stark contrast to the ruin that he has now.
While things are not looking great for Steve Buscemi’s character right now, just remember what the slogan for this final season is “no one goes quietly.” While Luciano may be winning now, there is no guarantee that this will stay that way.
The biggest question that we wonder right now, though, is if there is any real way that this series can go off with a bang. We have a hard time thinking that Nucky is going to end this show happy, and even if he manages to get part of his empire back, what would that really prove?
To us, it feels like the show may have peaked last week when it comes to Van Alden and Chalky’s deaths. How do you really top the emotion of what happened, especially with the latter? We’re interested to see how Terence Winter and company could pull this one off.
