‘Downton Abbey’ season 5, episode 6 preview: Elizabeth McGovern’s Cora and further trouble
Who knew that things would escalate so quickly when it comes to Cora on “Downton Abbey“? Her story has accelerated quickly since Simon Bricker arrived on the seen, and after what took place on the new episode tonight, from here on out we are only going to see things push even further. (Spoilers ahead for American / international viewers!)
The synopsis below for the sixth episode of the season really does hint at big things for Elizabeth McGovern’s character, though it also shows Baxter getting involved both in the Mr. Green death investigation and also whether or not Thomas can fully recover from what ails him. Is there actually some positive news in here, as well? We’d be inclined to believe so, at least based on the synopsis’ end:
“Following last week’s altercation, relations between Robert and Cora are strained. Blake’s scheming starts to come to fruition when Mary is unexpectedly pitted against her love rival. Edith receives some terrible news and decides to take drastic action, leaving people reeling. Following a mysterious tip off, Baxter becomes embroiled in the investigation of Green’s death. Meanwhile, Thomas’s condition is deteriorating, prompting him to finally reveal the truth to Baxter. It is not all bad news however, for love is in the air for more than one member of the Crawley family.”
There are only a few episodes left now before the Christmas Special, and with that in mind, we have to believe that some more stunners will soon come. Let’s just hope that they meet some of the expectations that we have.
