How the CBS All Access service will impact ‘Big Brother 17’ live feeds
When we first saw this announcement, we actually thought that if you were a CBS viewer with a cable package, there probably would not be that much of a value in this unless you really want to catch up on an older show that you’ve missed out on. However, one little bit of information changes that slightly if you are a “Big Brother” fan.
According to Zap2It, this will also be the go-to service next year for all those who want to watch the “Big Brother 17” live feeds, which is a little different from when they were sold individually. It’s a little early to see how this will impact the marketplace for many fan sites, who make a good bit of their money every summer on affiliate links. Maybe CBS will set up a similar program for this net year, or maybe they won’t. Cost-wise, it should work out to be around the same.
Technically, you do get more for your money if you sign up for this than the traditional live feeds in the past, but we’re still torn on it given that it would be pretty sad to see so many great sites struggle this coming summer without that affiliate power coming in.
For right now, just put this in the file for “things to watch out for.” If you want to see what we said in our original article on this subject, you can see it over at the link here. Also, sign up to get some more news on everything we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo via CBS.)
