‘Ink Master: Rivals’ season 5, episode 7 podcast: Oliver Peck, Tyesha Reels and American Traditional
There is a lot to talk about in this week’s CarterMatt “Ink Master: Rivals” podcast with Jessa and Bart and with this being American traditional week on the show, you can expect a lot of complaining from Bart (if you are new to the podcast, he really hates American traditional tattoos).
Not only will there be some discussion about American traditional tattoos, but also about the fact that Oliver Peck designed the face off tattoo. He is the king of American traditional on this show and he’s one of the judges, so there’s a lot of pressure to make sure this tattoo is pure magic.
Has there been too many tag team challenges this season for your liking? We have been a little underwhelmed with how many of the challenges are requiring the artists to work together in teams. This week the team work turned into a bit of a high school group project where one or two people carried the team and did the majority of the work making it a little more difficult to really see who was dropping the ball on fundamentals week.
We also saw the judges put the power into the hands of the artists, something that we weren’t that crazy about. We’ve seen this on “Best Ink” where the top dogs chose who goes into the bottom for elimination and this time around we had the teams of three choose their weakest link to go into elimination and we lost Tyesha Reels.
And last but not least we will of course be talking about Emily Elegado, her illness and how she worked though the pain and tattooed with her team. Some artists felt that her pain wasn’t real and called her out on it, but in the end she did her work and was part of the winning team.
