‘Gracepoint’ episode 3 preview: Gemma, Tom, and other secrets

Two episodes in, and “Gracepoint” has set up for itself quite the complicated tapestry. You have many interesting characters within the small town, but as we’ve started to see, with these folks come quite the surprising array of secrets. We’re learning that there may be so much more to this case than first meets the eye. The question is just when certain people involved are willing to come clean with what they know.

Luckily, the next new episode airing a week from tonight looks to very much be a beacon of information. While there may not be a whole lot of scoop out there right now in terms of what you can expect, we still find the synopsis below to be valuable:

“During the investigation, Mark is caught in a lie and subsequently brought in for questioning; Gemma opens up to the detectives; and Carver has a chat with Ellie’s husband, Tom.”

Obviously, one of the struggles of a limited series, especially one where a crime serves as one of the jumping-off points, is trying to figure out how to sustain things until the mystery is really resolved. From our own experience, we feel like the best way to ultimately do that is to bring in some new characters, and routinely twist things up to the point where there is no obvious solution to the problem anymore. Let’s just hope that this show can find a way to pull that off, and keep the small number of viewers that it has at present.
