‘Gracepoint’ episode 2 preview: David Tennant reacts to premiere, looks ahead
Tomorrow night, one of best series on TV that you may not be watching in “Gracepoint” will return to air for another new episode … but before that happens, why not see what one of the show’s most-prominent cast members has to say?
In the video below, you can see David Tennant speak out about his role as Emmett on the series, and what was behind one of his bigger speeches at the end of the episode. In many ways, this speech informs us on where we are going to see the character go from here, and that is something critical to keep track of as the story progresses.
After all, what we are looking at here with this show is something very different than anything else that is on the air. “Gracepoint” is not trying to go for that back 9 episodes, or to get a renewal. That’s why its ratings are almost not as important so long as the show doesn’t get canceled. We just want to see the story play out, and we were somewhat bummed that despite Tennant and also Anna Gunn in her first regular gig since “Breaking Bad,” it did not make more of an impression.
Then again, Gunn knows something about a series that builds in interest and acclaim over time. Maybe that is what will happen here, and by the time the series comes to a close, maybe this show will be what many out there are actually discussing.

With Chibnall and Strong having worked on it (they also did Broadchurch) I trust the show will be great. It will diverge after tomorrow night’s episode and end differently with a different killer. Those people who complain would still compain if it was too different just as they complain because it’s close to canon. Personally I think it’s a pile of Anglophilic snobbery and they had their minds made up before the first episode that they would slam it. In fact if you check the Facebook page you’ll see people started trolling it viciously and ignorantly (since they had never even seen so much as a trailer at the time) LONG before the first episode.

Yes, I noticed that, too. Well, I loved BC, but I like GP just as much, if not more. I think I like Emmett Carver a little better.
