‘Witches of East End’ season 2 finale: On Helena casting, season 3 hopes
Last night, “Witches of East End” ended with a series of surprises, and they range from an Ingrid pregnancy to arrests to Wendy heading down into the underworld, where she will run into someone else who could be very important to the direction of the series moving forward: Helena.
Does the show know how they want to handle this woman already? If nothing else, they know who they would like to cast for the role in the event they get their way. Speaking to TVLine in a post-mortem for the finale, executive producer Maggie Friedman had the following to say:
“There’s an actress we would reference in the writers’ room a lot when we would talk about this character, and who we’d want her to be, should we be so lucky as to have a Season 3. We’re not sure if we could get her, but the great thing is that there are so many amazing actresses in Julia [Ormond] and Mädchen [Amick’s] peer group who would be fabulous. It’s going to be a fun role, so I hope we’re able to write it!”
We feel like it is going to happen, mostly because the show has a good bit of momentum still. Lifetime just has a habit sometimes of keeping people waiting, and after the “Client List” fiasco, we feel like they need to renew at least a few consecutive bubble shows in order to re-establish a little bit of credibility with some of their viewers.
What do you want to see from this Helena character, and many others who are appearing on “Witches of East End” already? I definitely feel they need to do a season 3, because we found out Ingrid is pregnant and we need to know who the father is and will she keep it or tell anyone? Also with Dash switching souls with his brother, I wonder if anyone will find out? and if Ingrid will visit Dash in jail? and will he get a chance to tell her what his brother did to him? Plus with Wendy put in Hell and seeing her other sister after so many centuries will it be resolved and find a way out of there? Plus who killed Frederick?
There’s so many things left on the line in the last two episodes that it has to have another season to clarify the issues and resolve them properly.
