Ratings: ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine,’ ‘The Simpsons,’ ‘Family Guy’ plummet; ‘Mulaney’ low

Apparently, this is what happens when Fox doesn’t have an NFL overrun, and also does not have the joy of a crossover special or “The Simpsons” killing off a main character.

There were significant drops across the board, but none were more noticeable than what happened on Fox last night. “Bob’s Burgers” started things low with a 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic, and while “The Simpsons” (2.0) was the best on the night for them, it was significantly down from the premiere. The same goes for “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (1.6), which is still getting better ratings than last season.

“Family Guy” was hurt the most on the night. Their new episode drew a 1.9, which was way down from the 4.5 the crossover episode received in the preliminary numbers. Meanwhile, John Mulaney and Nasim Pedrad may regret leaving “Saturday Night Live” after “Mulaney” (1.0) started with a number that may make it canceled within just a couple of weeks.

Some other huge drops this week came for “Once Upon a Time” (3.1) and “Resurrection” (1.8), though you also have to remember that ABC for some reason has experienced some significant shifts in their ratings after the fact this season that could cause these numbers to rise.

There is not too much else worth mentioning right now, except for maybe the “Madam Secretary” (1.7) numbers being a little inflated. In New York and parts of Connecticut last night, the show was delayed around 10-15 minutes due to NFL football. This will probably adjust down a little later in the week. “The Good Wife” and “CSI” are fairly steady.
