‘Bones’ season 10 spoilers: Is this the funniest Booth, Brennan case idea yet?
“Bones,” like “Castle,” is one of those murder-mystery shows that really can bridge the gap between comedy and drama effectively, and that is not often an easy thing to do.
For example, we know that the show’s upcoming season 10 premiere is going to be all sorts of dramatic, with Booth not only struggling within prison, but also facing the possibility of an extremely uncertain future when he gets out. What do you do when you don’t trust the institution that you believed in for almost all of your life?
Now, take a deep breath and come back to earth … and prepare to laugh. Once we get past that, we may have the greatest undercover mission the show has ever seen in terms of comedy. For more on that, just take a look at what executive producer Stephen Nathan had to say to TVLine:
“They are going to be undercover at a crossword puzzle tournament … [Whether or not they have aliases] remains to be seen, but I’m smelling new [personas].”
Yes, this sounds awkward and incredibly hilarious to us. There’s always great entertainment in seeing Booth go against type, and he does not have a lot in common with the typical crossword enthusiast. We also are curious if the writers will be bringing in a crossword consultant to help with the episode. Creating some of the better ones can almost be an art form in itself!
Hopefully, there are going to be some other really fun cases decorated throughout this upcoming season. We know that many out there do love “Bones” when it gets dark, but the lighter side of the show is why we keep coming back.
