ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7: Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion, and wedding hopes featured in new poster

“Castle” season 6 ended with a controversial cliffhanger, and mostly because so many assumed that the Castle and Beckett characters were actually going to be married by the time the finale ended. That didn’t happened. Instead, what we ended up seeing was Nathan Fillion’s character being captured, and a mystery as to who was the guilty party.

Well, the season 7 poster (via TVLine) teases a wedding, but in probably the most chilling way possible. The blown-up image of Rick almost makes it seem like Beckett is facing a memory of her fiance, and she looks extremely concerned at what should be a very happy point in her life.

We will give the marketing department a lot of credit here, mostly because we’ve given them so much flak to them over the years for them producing images and posters that are cheesy, and seem put-together at the last second with Photoshop. This is actually really nice. It’s a little heart-wrenching, and it also reminds you that the show is clearly not forgetting about the wedding. Remember here that there are already claims out there that there could be a wedding ceremony at some point before 2014 is over.

The new season premieres on Monday, September 29, and the only reason for the later date is simply because of the fact that ABC wants to launch “Forever” the week before in the timeslot. Is it annoying? Definitely, but just look at it in the way that you get another episode a little later down the road.
