‘Masters of Sex’ season 2, episode 10 preview: Could Bill face some sudden competition?

If there is one thing that Dr. Bill Masters has been able to pride himself on so far, it’s that he has been a pioneer. Unfortunately for him, that is just about all that he has been able to pride himself on lately. “Masters of Sex” season 2 has been an unholy mess of epic proportions for the character, who has changed jobs, dealt with drama at home, and also perpetuated an affair that he knew would have far-reaching implications.

Now, he also has to deal with competition within his own field. While there is clearly so much more going on in next week’s “Below the Belt,” this is at least one part of the story that stands out to us right now. Want to know more? Then take a look at the synopsis (per TV Guide) below:

“Johnson tries to find a cure for Masters’ sexual difficulties; Masters learns of a rival study and tries to brand his work; Flo informs Langham that he must have sex with her in order to keep his job; Barbara and Lester connect over their shared sexual dysfunctions; Libby asks Johnson to give her an alibi while she canvases a tenement for a rent strike with CORE.”

As for the full promo from this episode, the biggest thing to take away is that Bill is once again conflicted. He has a unique opportunity now within the world of television, but here’s the problem: How do you get across his message on a network that censors everything under the sun? Even this show today wouldn’t be allowed on anything other than Showtime.
