‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 2 spoilers: The title for the premiere is…
For all those who love Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD,” rejoice in the fact that the premiere is not that far away now! Not only that, but we now also know the name for the first episode back: “Shadows.” This is coming in from SpoilerTV, even though it has not been officially confirmed yet by ABC.
So what does this title mean? To us, it could be twofold. The most obvious meaning for the name is that going into season 2, many of the members of SHIELD may actually be in the shadows. Now that he has received his promotion, Coulson is going to be operating more under a veil of secrecy with his organization. He wants to ensure that everyone within SHIELD is safe, and that the outside world remains in the dark. In a post-HYDRA world, this all sounds like the right move to make to us.
Another reason for the episode title could be connected back in some way to what is going on with a mysterious villain, or someone we have not met just yet. We are going to be meeting a number of new faces throughout the season, with Lucy Lawless clearly being the most notable addition. She has connections to SHIELD, and also shares a past with Coulson to go along with it. What’s not to celebrate about this?
Season 2 as a whole has the tough challenge of pushing the SHIELD story forward in an interesting way, but not doing anything so crazy that the movies coming up will spend too much time explaining what happened.
