‘The View’: Rosie Perez, Nicole Wallace to reportedly join Rosie O’Donnell
Who knew that there would be so many people named Rosie on “The View” in the fall? You’ve known about the addition of Rosie O’Donnell for some time, but now, prepare yourself for the latest two names to be added to the mix.
Per a new report coming in via Deadline, Rosie Perez and Nicole Wallace are the two names right now being circled to get major gigs as a part of the ABC morning giant. Perez is an actress who has done everything from “Pineapple Express” to voice work in “Go Diego Go.” Meanwhile, Wallace is a political commentator with ties to the George W. Bush administration. Basically, she is there to get that alternative viewpoint. she was tested more than Perez was for a role, but she also does have a little bit of history guest-hosting on the show.
With these additions, it’s pretty clear to us that ABC is not necessarily expecting a ratings home run right away. Rosie hasn’t drawn big numbers in years, and we can’t imagine these other two names have a huge following. We see what is going on here more as a case of the show really going for fit, and hopefully casting on the basis of chemistry much more than anything else … which, by our personal admission, is really how it should be.
New episodes of “The View” will start airing this month with this entire new panel, and hopefully that will give everyone enough time to prepare and get to know each other. Also, hopefully that means they can start practicing their arguments.
What do you think about these selections, if they turn out to be true? Share in the comments.
