‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11 spoilers: ‘The Americans’ star checks in for guest spot
“Grey’s Anatomy” is seemingly getting all of the great guest stars right now. You may have heard the news already that Geena Davis has been tapped to do an extended arc on the series, and we’re not hearing that someone familiar with FX’s “The Americans” will be stopping by, as well.
Sources confirm that Annet Mahendru, who plays the role of KGB Agent Nina on the show, will be in at least one episode of the ABC series’ 11th season. Mahendru herself first shared the news via social media, but gave no real mention of what role she is going to be playing.
It’s pretty easy to guess, though, that this is either going to be a patient-of-the-week or some sort of one-off spot. Even if Nina was sent back to Russia on the “Americans” season 2 finale, she’s still most-likely going to be a major part of that show. With that in mind, she’s not going to have a whole lot of free time to spend running around in a fictional Seattle hospital. This should just be a role that the producers of the series are happy to have, even if she does not stick around for a particularly long time.
The new season of “Grey’s Anatomy” premieres on ABC come Thursday, September 25, and we know already that one of the most substantial stories on the show is going to be all about Meredith, and where she is now that Cristina has left, she’s fighting with her husband, and she is struggling to find some stable ground.
For the time being, what do you think about Annet’s casting on the show? Let us know in the comments, and for some further scoop from the Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital and beyond, just be sure to click here. You can also sign up to get a further dosage of TV news now via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
