‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 spoilers: Will Meghan Ory, Rose McIver return?
One of the great things about “Once Upon a Time” is that they have been so smart in their casting that there are a number of memorable characters. However, at the same time one of their problems is that there are so many actors who either use this show as a stepping stone to other things, or use this as a comeback after taking some time away.
Just look at some people out of the following list: Tom Ellis, Jamie Dornan, Rose McIver, JoAnna Garcia Swisher (who has a new show coming out next year), Meghan Ory, Jamie Chung, and Sarah Bolger … just to name a few. That’s a ton of people, and a ton of schedules! The reason why the Mulan / Aurora storyline stopped last season was mostly because of the fact that Chung and Bolger both had roles on other series in “Believe” and “Mixology,” which are now both canceled.
So what are the odds of some of these people coming back? Based on our knowledge and some recent comments from showrunners Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis to Entertainment Weekly, we’ve got at least some solid answers for you now.
- Ellis – Obviously not returning, since Sean Maguire is the new Robin Hood.
- Dornan – Unlikely, given that “Fifty Shades of Grey” will make him a big star.
- McIver – Kitsis and Horowitz want her back, and her new show “iZombie” conveniently films in Vancouver.
- Swisher – Possible in theory, but Ariel’s story does not have a big cliffhanger.
- Ory – With “Intelligence” canceled it’s possible, and Kitsis and Horowitz want her back.
- Bolger and Chung – Kitsis and Horowitz wouldn’t confirm or deny anything here. We suppose the issue is finding a way to make the present-day fairy tale world relevant to what’s happening in Storybrooke.
As you may have heard already, Giancarlo Esposito will return early this season as Sidney Glass, and that is one of the most prominently returns you’re going to see.
