‘The Originals’ season 2 spoilers: Marcel needs a new ally

When you are a character like Marcel on “The Originals,” let’s be real: You basically need to find as many friends as you possibly can. This is a word where friendships and allegiances are constantly changing, and you need to almost everything you can in order to ensure that someone is there with you and has your back.

So who will this ally be for Marcel? Speaking to TV Guide, executive producer Michael Narducci explained how it is Josh of all people who may be able to assist him in revitalizing his community … which could in turn mean some interesting things for himself and Davina:

“Marcel is going to have his own agenda with what to do now that his community has been decimated … He finds very quickly a connection to Josh.” 

So long as there continues to be drama and intrigue surrounding these characters, we really cannot get too upset with anything that happens. We try to view “The Originals” as a strategic game like “Risk,” where there are constantly new allegiances and relationships that are forming. One of the biggest appeals of the show, therefore, is that you never quite know 100% where anyone truly stands.

The new season premieres on The CW on Monday, October 6, and Marcel’s actions are just the tip of the iceberg. Klaus and Hayley have a new bond, but it’s also a painful one without their child. Hayley in particular is going to have a very hard time adjusting to being a hybrid.
