‘Reign’ season 2 spoilers: What will haunt Francis?
While “Reign” may not exactly be a ghost story, there is still a certain ghost from the past that haunts Francis; specifically, we’re talking about his decision that he made to kill his father late in the first season.
The ultimately point here to remember is just because something may be right does not mean that it happens without repercussions. It’s possible that Francis will eventually be able to handle what he did, but it’s going to take a little bit of time. For more, just take a look at what executive producer Laurie McCarthy had to say in a new chat with TVLine:
“When Henry died, he talked about what it was like to take a life — it’s a big weight you carry with you … One of the things you’re going to see this season is that Francis is carrying that weight; he’s carrying that guilt from killing his father. It was a justified killing, but a killing nonetheless.”
Are we expected for the Francis story this coming season? Definitely, and largely because we’re going to open up that world more and start to see more and more of what happens with him and Mary as rulers. Not only will there be further outside forces than they’ve had to deal with in the past, but there is also a certain demon known as the plague that will start to spread and take many lives in its path.
The new season premieres on Thursday, October 2, and we will have further news before then.
