‘Under the Dome’ season 2, episode 7 preview: Meet Barbie’s dad

So far this season, one of the main things that we can say about “Under the Dome” is that it’s a little bit of a mess. Stories are all over the place, and we’re looking for just something interesting or profound to cling to. Mostly, we still want to see the show be the same great one that it was in the first half of season 1.

Will next week’s episode provide that very opportunity? It’s a little early to tell, though we can at least say that Brett Cullen is going to guest star as Barbie’s father, and we could finally find out more about him. Fittingly, the episode is called “Going Home.” Take a look at what you can expect (via CBS):

“When Barbie descends into the unknown abyss in the mysterious tunnel to look for Sam, he discovers a world that is familiar but filled with unanswered questions.”

The one thing that we personally hope for is that at least a few of these questions are answered … seriously, is that too much to ask at this point? This story needs that big reveal, or the inspirational moment that makes people want to talk about it again in a positive light. There may be a character who gets out from under that dome by the end of the season, and that may be the opportunity that we (and so many others) have been waiting for to see what the rest of the world is now like.
