‘True Blood’ season 7, episode 7 reaction: Writer on big Anna Paquin – Stephen Moyer scene
Sunday night’s “True Blood” was titled “May Be the Last Time,” but interestingly enough, it may have been more of a reference to Bill and Sookie being together again than anyone dying. The relationship and the spark between them is finally back, but it’s at the worst time possible, given that Bill is near the end of the road as far as being an H-Vamp goes.
So was it a hard decision for the writers getting Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer’s characters back together? Right now, we vote “probably not” to that, given that the two are married in real life, and that chemistry has transferred over to the show and made Bill the closest “endgame character” for Sookie that there is. However, the big challenge for the show was making sure the reconciliation moment was right.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the episode’s writer Craig Chester had the following to say about how the story came together, and the connections between this and one of the series’ first episodes:
“A lot of discussion went into that scene, which I think some people have been waiting for for a very long time and others have maybe not. [Laughs] We did shoot, shot-for-shot, Sookie running to Bill’s house in a white dress, so it is literally a callback to episode six of season 1. But one of the things that we talked about is that these are two very different people now that are reconnecting, who obviously have this deep love for each other. It’s loaded with this history between them. That was something that Anna [Paquin] and Stephen [Moyer] beautifully conveyed, having played these characters for so long and knowing exactly where they’re at as they rekindle their feelings for each other.”
The two are not entirely aware yet that there is hope for Bill thanks to what Eric and Pam are up to hunting Sarah Newlin down, but can he wait that long? The best thing that Sookie can do is give Bill a reason to live and keep fighting … and with that, hopefully he will last long enough to make something happen.
What do you think about these two as endgame now on “True Blood”? Let us know your thoughts now with a comment.

Sookie and Bill forever. Nothing (and nobody) compares!
