‘Mad Men’ season 7: When could the final episodes premiere?
We’ve discussed and speculated aplenty about the final seven episodes of “Mad Men,” but upon looking over our research today we realized that there is one thing that we have not surprisingly touched on just yet: When the show could return with new episodes. It seems like something inevitable to discuss, but it just has not been discussed in any capacity here yet.
The first thing that we’ll say here is that this is not a show that AMC can just throw onto the schedule at any time, given that there are some other things that need to be considered here. The primary one is when “The Walking Dead” airs, since the two have never been on at the same time and most likely will not again here. Also, you have the unknown that is “Better Call Saul” to also throw in here. This show may end up leading out of the zombie drama for a time, which could in turn push back “Talking Dead.” Either way, we don’t see Bob Odenkirk and company slowing down Don Draper’s final bow.
There is also even one thing to consider here that is not related to AMC at all, and that is the premiere of “Game of Thrones.” While we know that “Mad Men” doesn’t often even have to air at 9:00, AMC did put a premium last year on avoiding that night for the sake of added posterity. That is why if we were a predicting man here, we’d mark down Sunday, April 12 on the calendar now. That may be a long time to wait between seasons, but it could be for the best. There is really no other place to put the show, given that they would have had to start promoting the show now if they wanted to give it a final run this fall.
We will have a whole lot more news pertaining to “Mad Men” as we near the show’s return date, but for now feel free to share some of your thoughts on this below. Also, you can sign up today if you want to get some other major updates on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
