‘The Blacklist’ season 2 spoilers: Looking into ‘Monarch Trust’

When it comes to cryptic (but cool) episode titles, we feel like “The Blacklist” needs to win some sort of award at the moment. This show continues to come up with surprising names, and ones that make us very inquisitive as to what they could mean.

Yesterday, we reported a little on what was the title for the first episode; now, we’ve got some scoop on the second. According to a new report from SpoilerTV, we’re looking at none other than “Monarch Trust.” In trying to search for the term online, we couldn’t come up with anything substantial as for its meaning other than a group of monarch butterflies in New Zealand. Suffice it to say, we don’t think that this has any sort of connection to it at all.

The main thing that is notable to us about this is that this doesn’t sound like the name of yet another person on The Blacklist. Heck, neither one of the first two episodes do. Maybe this is something that is just going to continue for a few episodes as the show looks to set up the circumstances for the entire season, or who knows? Maybe they are going in a much different direction now with the episode titles and they want to give a different flavor to them. One way or the other, we will probably not know for a while.

The new season of “The Blacklist” premieres on NBC come Monday, September 22, and we of course are going to have more news before that time.
