‘Masters of Sex’ season 2, episode 4 preview: Austin, Virginia’s confrontation

On Sunday night’s “Masters of Sex” episode, Virginia is going to have some serious explaining to do. Until now, she has been able to keep most of her affair with Bill completely hush-hush, and that has been made easier thanks to hotel visits and also secret names.

Unfortunately for the two of them, neither counted on being seen by someone who would know the two, their work, and the relationship that they had while conducting the study: Austin. In the sneak peek below, he confronts Lizzy Caplan’s character about it, claiming that he saw the two of them at the hotel while he was spending some time with his children. She appears somewhat stunned, but that is where the preview wends. We don’t get a chance to see whether or not he is trying to blackmail her or wants anything in particular, but this is a tense situation.

If there is a little bit of good news for Virginia here, it is that Austin knows more than just a thing or two about doing scandalous things. This is the married man who joined the sex study without informing his wife about it, and that is just the beginning of this guy’s problems.

At some point, Virginia and Bill are obviously going to become a power-couple and out in the open, but we’re sure that they would like some sort of control over how this moment happens. We’ll certainly find out more about this by the end of the season.
