Teen Choice Awards 2014: ‘Modern Family’s’ Sarah Hyland joins Tyler Perry as co-host
Apparently, the Teen Choice Awards decided at some point that they really needed more than one host. How else do you describe the announcement that we have for you today?
It has been confirmed now that “Modern Family” star Sarah Hyland, who has appeared at plenty of these awards shows over the years, will be joining Tyler Posey front and center for the program. The “Teen Wolf” star didn’t necessarily need a co-host, but Sarah is a good one to have. She’s got experience making people laugh and she also is on a very popular show for all audiences. If you are looking for a solid mainstream choice, she is probably it.
Here is the thing that really surprises us about this move: Fox has basically hired a pair of people now who really don’t have a whole lot of a connection to the network at all to host. That’s not something they are particularly known for. Just look at how many “Glee” actors have hosted the show over the years. This show is always a little bit of a hodgepodge when it actually airs, mostly because there are so many different nominees and categories that they can never get to all of them in the broadcast. With that in mind, they typically just choose to just show most of the awards on the show that they can fit into the broadcast with celebrities actually there to receive them. This is at least the way that it’s been done in the past.
What do you think about Hyland co-hosting the show, and are you excited to see it air come August 10? Let us know below.
