‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’: Jessica Lange’s latest honor is…
When you are Jessica Lange, we would have to assume that there are quite a few people wanting to honor you the vast majority of time. After all, just look at the crazy-big body of work that she has!
The latest bit of recognition for the “American Horror Story” star is coming courtesy of the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. In particular, she is going to be the recipient of the Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film. The honor in particular is going to come to her during a black-tie dinner at the Bacara Resort & Spa in Santa Barbara on November 16.
In a statement, Douglas himself had the following to say about handing this award to Lange:
“Jessica Lange possesses the three key elements in making it in this crazy business: talent, beauty and intelligence, all of which have served her well and continue to do so … It is my honor to give her my reward.”
While “American Horror Story” has been in the news over the past several weeks, Lange has actually steered pretty clear of most of the publicity tours. She was not at San Diego Comic-Con, and she has also not appeared at some of the other panels here and there. (You can do that when you’re Jessica Lange.) However, you can expect to see her later in August, as she will be one of the many nominees at the Primetime Emmy Awards. She’s also busy in New Orleans filming “Freak Show,” which premieres on FX in October.
