‘Under the Dome’ season 2, episode 5 preview: Big Jim behind bars
With Julia trying now to handle Chester’s Mill, life on “Under the Dome” Monday night is going to change. Is it for the better? That’s what remains to be seen.
The only thing that we feel pretty definitive on for the time being is that when you are dealing with Dean Norris’ character, you have to be aware of everything that he is capable of. Even though he may be now behind bars, for example, the man is still plotting. His brain moves with such speed and intensity in these situations that it is hard to really believe that he will ever really stop.
The reason why he’s locked up should be obvious: This is what happens when you are a bad person, especially when you are willing to go so far as to create a census making it clear who is valuable to the town, and also who is expendable at the end of the day.
Do we still want to see him released someday? Probably, but not for the benefit of anyone in the town. The reality here more is that we just feel like the show is so much better when Jim is running around being crazy, and him being a caged beast is something that we have a hard time looking forward to. Hopefully, this is just a temporary bump in the road for the guy, and there is a significant dose of crazy still coming with him before we reach the end of the season.
