‘Under the Dome’ season 2, episode 5 preview: Julia (thankfully) takes over
To say that Monday night’s “Under the Dome” was a pretty dramatic one would be making quite the understatement. We found out more and more about the plan that Big Jim and Rebecca had started up, the identity of Angie’s killer, and proof that kisses that are not reciprocated in any way are way more entertaining than genuine romantic moments.
Still, this season feels more and more like a shell of its season 1 self, and they really have to hope that “Reconciliation” airing next week can be a nice way to turn things around. Before you do anything else, we suggest just taking a look at the synopsis for some details on what to expect:
“Julia takes over as the leader of Chester’s Mill after the town becomes divided in the wake of Big Jim and Rebecca’s plans for population control. Meanwhile, Joe and Norrie help Melanie search for more clues about her identity at the Dome wall.”
We feel like the show continues to do some good things, and have some good performances. The problem is that it’s mired in being a little too all-over-the-place and scattered, and it will be served a dozen or so times better with some more focus, and some less cheesiness regarding the dome. This has been almost made into too much of a serious character that it has taken away from some of the other people and their journeys. That is one of the reasons for the lesser ratings right now.
