Teen Choice Awards 2014: ‘Teen Wolf’ star Tyler Posey to host
The 2014 Teen Choice Awards have one of the biggest lists of possible nominees out there, and we also now know that they officially have a host.
In a statement from Fox, it was announced that “Teen Wolf” star Tyler Posey is going to be the emcee for the show this year. This is definitely a surprising choice mostly for one reason and one reason only: Typically, the show tends to get hosts that are already personalities or stars on the network. That’s why we have seen so many “Glee” stars host over the years. Posey is at least popular with the target demographic for the show, so we understand the choice in that way.
The lineup of stars currently set to appear is a pretty extensive one, and it includes such favorites as Keegan Allen, Jake T. Austin, Tyler Blackburn, Lucy Hale, Big Show, Jamie Blackley, Ian Harding, Kellan Lutz, MKTO, Chloë Grace Moretz,Cody Simpson, Hailee Steinfeld, Gregg Sulkin, Bella Thorne and Zendaya. Basically, you have about half of the “Pretty Little Liars” cast there along with some other familiar faces scattered throughout. It’s a pretty good crew, but we still have a hard time telling if this will actually boost the ratings. The interesting thing about this show in particular is that they are always able to get a big lineup of people to appear, and then still struggle when it comes to actually getting the ratings. This show trends often on Twitter, but is proof that social media buzz does not always equal popularity.
What do you think: Is Posey the right choice to host the Teen Choice Awards this year? Let us know in the comments.
