‘Girl Meets World’ episode 4 preview: The struggle ahead in ‘Girl Meets Father’
As we get through the entire first season of “Girl Meets World,” what we are expecting to see for the most part are a series of stories that give us differing perspectives on the world that Cory Matthews now occupies. Mostly, we get those through the eyes of his daughter Riley at this point, but there may be times where the perspective shifts somewhat.
This may be something that we see in particular during “Girl Meets Father,” which is slated to be the fourth episode of the show airing on the Disney Channel next week. Based on the official synopsis below, Cory will be at least partially the focus as he realizes that Riley does have some other things she would rather be doing than spending time with him. Also, he will face the complications of being both a teacher and also a father figure to Maya:
“Cory struggles with Riley growing up when he learns she’d rather go to the school dance then participate in their yearly tradition of riding the Coney Island roller coaster. Simultaneously, he is dealing with the outcome of giving Maya an F.”
In just reading this description, the one question that we have about it is pretty simple: Why in the world does he have to take her to the roller coaster on this day? Isn’t there a good compromise that they can work out here? This is something that Cory is going to have to figure out as he gets further and further along down this crazy road called fatherhood: Some traditions are meant to be broken, or at least augmented in some way.
