‘Homeland’ season 4 spoilers: First full trailer with Claire Danes, cast
If you have been desperately seeking the first video preview of “Homeland” season 4, we imagine that you are not going to be disappointed at all by what we have for you below.
In this clip, you can see Carrie (Claire Danes) and Quinn (Rupert Friend) for the first time in Pakistan, where they are trying to execute some further missions under the authority of the United States government and also the CIA. This is basically the story on the show that you expected to see this coming season, at least in terms of broad strokes and major themes.
The thing that this promo does not do that we really wish that it would is offer up something when it comes to context. So often on TV these days, especially with shows that already have established audiences, we see situations where trailers are created that look and feel almost like every other trailer out there. We really don’t want that for this show, since so much of it is about the inner workings of Carrie’s head. We get a little of that with her falling back into her vices once again (apparently, her alcohol and pill issues jumped across the world with her), but we are also going to get a little bit of classic TV explosions and crowds in the streets. With all of the quality TV on the air these days, it is increasingly harder to create something like this that comes across as genuinely impressive anymore. Most of it just feels like more of the same.
