‘The Bachelorette’: Marquel Martin defends Nick Viall’s actions, calls him friend
Here you are, ladies and gentlemen: Definitive proof that not everyone associated with this season of “The Bachelorette” actually hated Nick Viall. This guy did manage to have some friends in here, as well!
One of these friends was actually one of the most-popular cast members on the entire show in “Cookie Man” Marquel Martin, who went fairly far and despite having some issues with some other people in the game (looking at Andrew), he actually had nothing but amazing things to say about the finalist Nick. Just take a look at his comments in a chat with Zap2It:
“I will defend Nick ’til the day I die. He’s one of the best people I will ever have the chance to meet. It’s weird because I really felt that, and this is just a personal opinion, I feel that as a man, if you’re going after someone you could potentially feel yourself marrying, why would you feel that you are second to anyone? You can’t tell me that my connection with Andi isn’t as strong as anyone else’s and I’m not saying that to be arrogant, but I’m saying that because I was confident in who I am and I’m always going to be that way until proven otherwise. You’re proven otherwise when you don’t receive a rose.
“And my connection is the only one I know about, so who am I to judge another guy in how he goes after something he loves? I think that’s ridiculous. I would understand if Nick made me feel like he thought himself better than me, but he treated me with nothing but respect, he was there for me through my tough times. He was amazing, he was great.”
The only thing that we feel that Nick has done wrong has been coming off a little bit abrasive at times. He’s never bullied anyone, said anything negative about Andi behind her back, or done anything else to make you believe that he is a downright horrible person. He’s mostly been the victim of being a little too honest at times, a little grumpy at others, and getting the evil music almost every time that he does something on the screen.

i think that andi made use of nick – she didnt seem to be that interested in him and i think he really fell for her – but maybe she didnt feel he was good looking enough – but what i dont understand is why did she go ahead and spend the night with him ?

I think that Andi is a narcissist, like Juan Pablo. Maybe that’s why they clashed so much. They were both more alike than they realized.

I loved Nick on this show.. He was very honest & the others were just clearly threatened by his intelligence & GORGEOUS FACE! Hello, Nick was definitely the most charming, sexiest, guy this season.

I really like both of them too. they seem fairly genuine, which on a reality show is rare to see.
