ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4 spoilers: What lies ahead for Huck?
Over the past several weeks, much has been made and said about the future of the Olivia – Fitz relationship on “Scandal,” whether there will be some more regulars joining the show, and topics related to the end of Harrison.
What has not been discussed too much at length (at least not yet) is the fate of one of the show’s other popular characters in Huck. Yes, there is no question about whether or not the Gladiator is going to be alive at the start of the season. Instead, the issue at hand may be a little more related to him knowing that his wife and child are still very much out there … even though he may have blocked them out. As Shonda Rhimes tells The Hollywood Reporter, him at least seeing the two is going to have a pretty tremendous psychological impact on him:
“It’s going to have a profound affect, possibly not in the way you think. Huck is a very damaged soul in every aspect of his life and he came to terms with something; he let go of those people. He let go of the fact that they existed. That’s what I love about the [season three] finale, when he says, ‘They didn’t exist anymore,’ he wasn’t sure they were alive so he let go of the idea that they existed. To discover that they were real is almost devastating to him because he had stopped fighting. If you stop fighting for something and then discover it was out there and you should have been fighting all along, that’s horrible. It’s going to be devastating for him.”
One other thing that is important to remember and think about in here is also what this is going to mean in terms of his relationship with Quinn. These two have also had their own weird thing going on, and that will most-likely be explored further in some capacity.
