‘Masters of Sex’ season 2 spoilers: Keeping up with the Scullys

We have heard at least a decent amount over the past week or so in regards to what is coming up for Masters and Johnson on “Masters of Sex” season 2, but there has not really been much said about the Scully family. One reason for that is that thanks to other commitments, we cannot imagine that you are going to be seeing that much of either Beau Bridges or Allison Janney in the new season; however, they will at least have some sort of role to play.

The last you saw Barton Scully, he had made the admission that in an effort to try and “cure” himself of his homosexuality, he was going to undergo some sort of electroshock therapy. How will this go? All we can say for the time being, at least according to TV Guide, is that his wife and daughter Vivian (Rose McIver of “Once Upon a Time”) are going to somehow be “pulled into” everything that he is going through.

Hopefully, all of this intensity will be told in a way that is true to the era, and also not too damaging to the Scully character. He’s a bit of an odd one with this show given that he is not entirely a real character who was in Masters’ world, but rather a combination of different people. Thanks to that, you really cannot have him ever achieve a position or a place so prominent that it starts to impact history. The same could in effect go now for his family.
