‘True Blood’ season 7, episode 4: Alexander Skarsgard, Kristin Bauer van Straten notes

Tomorrow night marks another new episode of “True Blood,” but for the time being HBO is choosing to be rather coy about it rather than show you a whole lot of what lies ahead. As a matter of fact, this photo featuring Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) is one of the few pieces of material that the network has shown us so far from it beyond the first promo.

In this photo, the only thing that we get from Pam’s face is that she is frustrated, and we definitely understand why. She has basically drug Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) along on a journey to kill Sarah Newlin, and this is the only way that she could convince him to not just sit around and allow Hep-V to kill him off. She feels a desperate need to protect him in the same way that he did her so many years ago. We feel like we understand their relationship better thanks so some of those flashbacks last week, which to us were some of the best parts of this entire season so far.

More about Skarsgard – On a different note, we have some comments from the actor about how he likes to be almost just as aloof in real life as his character can be on the show.

Speaking to Britain’s Glamour (per BANG Showbiz), Skarsgard explains how often away from work playing Eric and other characters, he likes to disconnect from the world. He specifically relates it to his recent trip to Antarctica:

‘I’ve been fascinated by Antarctica since I was a kid, and when this opportunity came up, I desperately wanted it to work out.

”I was shooting a movie called ‘The Giver’ in South Africa and fortunately I was able to rap in time. I went straight to Antarctica for a month. I love just being disconnected like that. The year before, I sailed across the Atlantic. It took three weeks and was kind of a similar experience in the sense of being completely present in the moment. You don’t have your cell phone, no email. It’s very liberating in a way, and a good excuse to not be reachable for a month.”

In other words, don’t expect Alex to sign up for a Twitter account anytime soon. The guy enjoys being mysterious, and for the time being so does his character. We’re interested to see whether or not Eric spends time with Sookie and the rest of the Bon Temps community again, but for now that doesn’t feel like a priority.
