‘Doctor Who’ season 8: Steven Moffat obviously upset over script leak
While the Emmys and TCA panels have made this a very good week for many TV programs, we unfortunately cannot say that the folks over at “Doctor Who” are really feeling that good right now. While they have a great season coming up starring Peter Capaldi for the first time as The Doctor, they have been forced to go through a pretty nightmarish situations where a sizable chunk of their scripts leaked online.
The good news is that Whovians are by and large a classy bunch, and we’re not seeing a whole chorus of people going out there and trying to ruin the fun for everyone else. However, a leak is still a leak, and it is pretty easy to say that the people who put all of their time into making the series a success are not pleased by it.
Speaking in a surprise appearance alongside Jenna Coleman (Clara) at the London Film and Comic Con, showrunner Steven Moffat used such words as “horrible” and “miserable” to describe the leak, which is basically taking advantage of an extensive amount of hard work that he put into trying to make this show a success alongside other members of the writing staff.
Luckily, the good news here is that there is still more than a month to go until the series returns on BBC, which means that there is a significant amount of time for all of this to blow over, and for everyone consequently to try to put their focus elsewhere. Fingers crossed that this is going to be able to happen.
