‘So You Think You Can Dance’ season 11: Pairings for Emily James, Brooklyn Fullmer, more
Last week’s “So You Think You Can Dance” show, themed all around getting to meet the top 20, produced all sorts of magic. However, this magic may be short-lived for the time being for one reason and one reason only: These contestants are not going to continue to have the chance to dance with people of their same style all the time. That (insert sinister laugh here) is far too easy for them.
So from this week on, the contestants will be paired off strategically with someone who shares a style that is at least marginally in contrast with their own. This makes this much more of a team environment, since a hip-hop dancer can help a contemporary one with a routine when they are struggling, and vice-versa.
Per a report from TVLine, here are the teams that have been announced for at least until the time of the competition when the all-stars enter the fray.
- Brooklyn Fullmer and Casey Askew
- Malene Ostergaard and Stanley Glover
- Jacque LeWarne and Zack Everhart
- Bridget Whitman and Emilio Dosal
- Jourdan Epstein and Marcquet Hill
- Valerie Rockey and Ricky Ubeda
- Carly Blaney and Serge Onik
- Emily James and Teddy Coffey
- Jessica Richens and Nick Garcia
- Tanisha Belnap and Rudy Abreu
Thanks to the quality of the routines last week, and the fact that the show has gotten rid of that undesirable “we have two winners” twist, we’re more excited about this season than we’ve been in a while. Let’s just hope that the momentum that the show has built so far lasts from start to finish.
