‘Rizzoli & Isles’ season 5, episode 5 preview: ‘The Best Laid Plans,’ and a new love interest?

Is love back in the air for one of the characters on “Rizzoli & Isles” moving forward? Based on the information that we have now, it feels right to consider it a definite possibility.

The new episode airing next week is entitled “The Best Laid Plans,” and based on what we have seen, Maura may find a guy who could be perfect for her. Unfortunately, she has to figure out whether or not she is really willing to take a chance on someone who may be a little out of her comfort zone. It’s the classic case of “what should I do,” but made all the more entertaining thanks largely to the fact that this is Maura Isles at the center of it.  Any good character can make a tired story thread suddenly feel new and interesting.

Take a look at just what you can expect now via the official synopsis below:

“The team investigates the murder of a wealthy woman with terminal cancer and only a few months left to live. And when Maura teaches a class, she meets a man who might be her Mr. Right, but she is torn between the doubts of her scientific mind and the instincts of her heart.”

Our overall take on this, at least for the time being, is that this sounds definitely like there is some depth here. We have a case that could shock and surprise, and then a B-thread with Maura that should provide some of that fun and levity that you probably are not going to get anywhere else in the episode.
