‘True Blood’ season 7, episode 3 preview: What’s next for Lafayette, James
Is there a couple on the horizon on “True Blood” that was hard to see coming before the season? It certainly seems like we are closer to that with Lafayette and James than we certainly thought we’d be.
The last time we spent a whole lot of time with James, he was romancing Jessica. Granted, he was also played by a different actor then in Luke Grimes. Things have changed a lot since then, and the photo above from Sunday’s “Fire in the Hole” is proof of all of that.
The only thing that is holding these two back right now from being a couple that we’ll actively root for is merely that there has not been enough of them together to forget much of a connection or a rooting interest. All that we can say for now is that we have been hoping that Nelsan Ellis’ character manages to find someone before this series is over, largely because we never wanted to see his tale come to a conclusion with him still holding onto feelings for Jesus. This may be his opportunity to be able to move forward, but there are still obstacles that he has to work through (with Jessica being one of the biggest ones).
In the end, we are excited still for what the rest of this season will bring, especially since this is far from the only romance in need of resolution. Jessica and Jason still could end up together, just like we would not be too shocked if the series ends with Sookie and Bill all over again.
What do you think is going to be coming up in this episode, and for these two characters the rest of the season? Share some of your theories below.
