‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 spoilers: Hook, Emma, and romantic ‘guilt’?

Hook and Emma are two of the most beloved characters in the “Once Upon a Time” world, so it does make sense that there would be a great deal of celebration surrounding the fact now that the two are going to have the ability to finally be together.

Unfortunately, it looks like there are still going to problems that makes this budding relationship hard on them, and it may not even have that much to do with the fact that the pirate captain has a history of being a bit of a scoundrel. Instead, one of the larger issues facing the two parties may be just as simple as the fact that Jennifer Morrison’s character is feeling a little anxiety over being in a relationship right now, mostly thanks to the fact that she was very recently responsible for what happened to Regina. Speaking to TVLine, executive producer Adam Horowitz elaborated with the following:

“There will be some challenges for them … The very first obstacle is Emma’s guilt over the fact that she just destroyed Regina’s relationship [with Robin Hood]. So there’s a part of her that feels guilt in starting a new romance of her own.”

We cannot imagine this actually stopping Hook and Emma from being together. Instead, the more likely scenario is that she and her new love will probably just have to try and use a little bit of discretion. That may not be easy when the one-time Evil Queen (who may become evil again as a result of the Marian crisis) has eyes everywhere, but they’re smart people and, if desperate enough, they’ll find a way to figure it out.
