‘Orange Is the New Black’ season 3: Laura Prepon returns as series regular
Well, at least we know for sure now that we won’t just be inundated with constant “Orange Is the New Black” rumors for the next few months. Laura Prepon is officially going to be back, and there is no real reason to worry over her status.
Speaking in an interview on “The Today Show” this week, the former star of “That 70’s Show” confirmed that her return to the series would be full-time as a regular for the third season, and that she is already in the process of filming the role.
So what happened to keep her away from part of the show’s second season? According to Prepon, it was the beast known as scheduling conflicts. Netflix does not negotiate contracts the same way that networks do, who tend to lock you in for six seasons the moment you sign on for a series. Therefore, she had something else lined up after the show that limited how many appearances in season 2 she was going to be able to make.
Luckily, there is no real reason to worry moving forward, though the interesting thing about this show, though, is that given the setting, you would think that there would be some sort of natural end date for some of the characters eventually.
“Orange Is the New Black” season 2 just started streaming at the end of last week, and there are already plenty out there who have made it through the entire season and are hungry for more. Personally, that’s probably why we prefer the standard TV model, since it forces you to exercise patience. Otherwise, we would have a very hard time remembering everything we just watched.
