FXX will keep Tracy Morgan series in plans, wishes him well during recovery

The latest -While the most important thing following the car accident that left Tracy Morgan with life-threatening injuries is his recovery (and also finding peace following the death of his friend and fellow comic James McNair), it has now been confirmed that his new television job will be there if and when he is ready to dive back into work months down the road.

If you recall, FXX recently announced that they were going to team Tracy up with the guys behind “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” for a brand-new comedy that is going to air at some point in 2015, and in a statement the network confirmed that they would still like to do that provided he is right to return to work:

The only thing we are concerned with is the health and recovery of Tracy Morgan and the victims of this tragic accident. We will support Tracy and his family in every way possible throughout his recovery. At the point when Tracy has recovered and decides that he is ready to go back to work, his show will be waiting for him. Right now our thoughts and prayers remain with Tracy, the other victims of the accident, and their families.”

Kevin Roper, the man whose Walmart truck caused the accident, has also issued a statement expressing his sadness and grief over the situation, but also repeatedly decrying reports that he was on no sleep at the time of the crash and repeatedly emphasizing the word “accident.” In the end, he feels as though the legal system is coming after him mostly because a celebrity was involved in the crash.

We will of course have some more updates on this situation as it becomes available, but in echoing everyone else our chief concern right now is that the comic is able to recover following such a horrible crash.
