‘Turn’: Is a season 2 renewal possible? What we know
Tonight, AMC’s Colonial spy drama “Turn” found itself at the end of its first season, and also with a number of important questions left to answer.
But the biggest one at the moment right now is just what exactly is going to come up in terms of the future. Are we going to get something more from the series in the future?
For now, we will start here by saying that the show has not been renewed yet for the second season. It isn’t exactly pulling in monster ratings for AMC, and the network’s policies have changed over the years. At the time that “Mad Men” and “Breaking Bad” were starting to find their legs, there was a need to have patience. The reviews were good, and they needed time to find an audience. Thanks to that, the two series eventually became extremely successful.
However, one other thing holding back “Turn” is that this is not the same sort of critically-acclaimed show. While most in the press enjoyed the series who stuck with it, it didn’t get the same level of love as “Mad Men” and rarely made headlines. It is a little more difficult to keep around a low-rated show at this point without nominations for Emmys or some sort of attention around it. Right now, “Turn” has neither, and we consider it to be a toss-up at best. The one little piece of silver lining that we have for it now is that the show at least feels like it has a better chance than “Low Winter Sun” did. That show, despite airing after “Breaking Bad,” was almost dead on arrival.
Do you see a second season of “Turn” happening, and what would you want to see in the event that it comes back? Sound off below, and head over here if you do want to get some more TV updates via our CarterMatt Newsletter.

This show deserves a second season. And it needs to be moved from its current timeslot opposite Game of Thrones. Tough to build an audience against one of the most popular shows on tv!! But Turn is true quality television and there is SO little of that on tv today. I will be hugely disappointed in AMC if they don’t renew this gem of a show!

I love this show! It provides a look at the first American spy ring, something most people knew nothing about! It also shows why we fought for liberty from England!
I pray it is renewed!

Please renew Turn. It is so horrible that that there is so much mind-numbing reality crap instead of intelligent, entertaining shows like this that make you think. At the very least, wrap up the storylines and don’t leave us hanging.

PLEASE renew TURN! It is refreshing to watch a television show, based on historical fact, that entertains and informs simultaneously. The acting is outstanding, the production is top rate for television and the story keeps you captivated. It is interesting seeing characters of history portrayed as real human beings possessing real emotions and faults. #AMC don’t leave us hanging without closure on this wonderful series. Have faith and give it some time.
