‘Turn’: Is a season 2 renewal possible? What we know

Turn -Tonight, AMC’s Colonial spy drama “Turn” found itself at the end of its first season, and also with a number of important questions left to answer.

But the biggest one at the moment right now is just what exactly is going to come up in terms of the future. Are we going to get something more from the series in the future?

For now, we will start here by saying that the show has not been renewed yet for the second season. It isn’t exactly pulling in monster ratings for AMC, and the network’s policies have changed over the years. At the time that “Mad Men” and “Breaking Bad” were starting to find their legs, there was a need to have patience. The reviews were good, and they needed time to find an audience. Thanks to that, the two series eventually became extremely successful.

However, one other thing holding back “Turn” is that this is not the same sort of critically-acclaimed show. While most in the press enjoyed the series who stuck with it, it didn’t get the same level of love as “Mad Men” and rarely made headlines. It is a little more difficult to keep around a low-rated show at this point without nominations for Emmys or some sort of attention around it. Right now, “Turn” has neither, and we consider it to be a toss-up at best. The one little piece of silver lining that we have for it now is that the show at least feels like it has a better chance than “Low Winter Sun” did. That show, despite airing after “Breaking Bad,” was almost dead on arrival.
